Lisa J. Wiesehan, 41, of Peoria, passed away at 2:20 a.m. on Monday, June 22, 2009, at home.

Lisa was born on July 26, 1967 in Peoria, a daughter of Tony Harris and Peggy (Sebens) Gunter. She married Tim D. Wiesehan on May 6, 2000 at Bayview Baptist Church in Washington. Her mother and infant brother preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband; father, Tony (Rosemary) Harris of Bartonville; sister, Melinda (Lonnie) Penman of Springfield; stepsister, Roszea (James) Parker of Bartonville; and eleven nieces and nephews.

Lisa graduated from Elmwood High School in 1986. She earned her Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education in 1995 from Hyles-Anderson College in Crown Point, IN.

She was a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) and earned their Award of Arms and Hippocampus recognitions. She also enjoyed participating in the Old English Faire at Jubilee College Park.

Lisa was an avid fan of NASCAR racing, especially Jamie McMurrary, and Contemporary Christian music. Her favorite song was “He Reigns”, by her favorite band, Newsboys, which she was able to see in concert in May.

She enjoyed visiting Lake of the Ozarks; collecting historical books and replicas of Egyptian artifacts; being a student of history; and telling stories about family genealogy.

She will be remembered as a loving, giving, generous, compassionate and intelligent woman.

A Celebration of Lisa’s life will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 28, 2009, at Northwoods Community Church in Peoria, with Pastor Sammy Waller officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church.
